A new leak about the 10th generation of Pokémon games is creating a lot of buzz, especially because it includes a new regional variant of Charmander that is a ground-type.
This latest leak, which is part of a series about the upcoming Pokémon game expected for the Nintendo Switch 2, appeared on 4chan over the weekend and promises exciting features.
The new Pokémon games will be called “Pokémon Gales & Tides” and will have starters like “Fire Goat, Water Octopus, and Grass Snail,” along with “16 main islands and over 150 smaller islands.” It will also introduce a new “Gigaxis” feature that allows Pokémon to transform into new Guardian legendary Pokémon.
Despite all these details, the main focus for fans is the new ground-type variant of Charmander.
Is the Pokémon Tides and Gales leak real?
While it could be real, we believe it is very likely a hoax for several reasons.
First, Pokémon leaks happen frequently, and except for a few from the Japanese magazine CoroCoro, they are usually fake.
The information comes from an English version of the game, including logos that resemble something from The Wind Waker rather than a Pokémon game.

Additionally, the logos are poorly formatted with uneven spacing, and it would be quite a coincidence for the English version to leak before the original Japanese version.
